How to Get the Monocross Unicorn Mount in Tower of Fantasy

Are you a Tower of Fantasy player looking to travel the game‘s vast world in style? Look no further than the majestic Monocross Unicorn Mount! This glorious steed is one of the rarest and most coveted mounts in the entire game – and for good reason. Its sleek cybernetic design and impressive galloping speed are sure to make you the envy of your fellow Wanderers.

But be warned: obtaining the Monocross Unicorn is no easy feat. You‘ll need to track down four different components, some of which have frustratingly low drop rates. But never fear – with this comprehensive guide, you‘ll be well-equipped to overcome the challenges and make this mount your own. So let‘s dive in and get you one step closer to riding off into the sunset!

The Four Components You‘ll Need

Before you can ride the Monocross Unicorn, you need to collect all of its parts scattered across the world of Tower of Fantasy. Here‘s what you‘re looking for:

  1. Unicorn Power Core
  2. Unicorn Bionic Frame
  3. Unicorn Cyberlimbs
  4. Unicorn Head

The first three components are obtained by completing specific puzzles and challenges. The Unicorn Head, on the other hand, is a rare drop from two World Boss enemies. More on how to get each part below.

Step 1: Cook Up a Fiddlehead Pie

Your first objective is to cook a Fiddlehead Pie. This savory treat is the favorite food of a certain eccentric scientist who we‘ll be meeting later. Here‘s the recipe you‘ll need:

  • 9x Brown Rice (found all over Raincaller Island)
  • 6x Fiddlehead (look in Banges Tech and Banges Factories)

Toss the ingredients into a cooking pot and cross your fingers! The dish is a bit tricky to make, so don‘t get discouraged if you fail on your first few attempts. Just keep gathering ingredients and trying again. With a bit of persistence (and culinary talent) you‘ll have a piping hot Fiddlehead Pie ready to go.

Pro Tip: For a guaranteed cooking success, use 15 of each ingredient. Acquiring extras takes a bit more gathering time but eliminates the RNG factor.

Step 2: Investigate a Strange Residue

With your pie in hand, head over to Miner‘s Camp, located near coordinates 361.1, 298.9. There you‘ll find an unusual purple barrier. Look carefully at the ground near one of the corners and you should spot a glowing puddle. Examine the goo to acquire a Strange Residue. Remember the location of this mystery substance, as we‘ll be back here again soon!

Step 3: An Appointment with Dr. Stoker

Now it‘s time to pay a visit to Dr. Stoker, an NPC with a fondness for Fiddlehead pies and advanced technology. You can find him in a lab inside a mountain east of Goldrush Mountain, around 458.8, 494.3.

Hand over the Strange Residue and your lovingly crafted pie to receive an Ore Extract in return. This funky fuel will power up an important device back at Miner‘s Camp.

Step 4: Solve the Power Core Puzzle

Return to the site of the Strange Residue and take a look at the three Energy Conversion Devices nearby. To dispel the barrier and acquire the Unicorn Power Core, you need to set the devices to the following arrangement:

  • Left Device: Gear 3
  • Middle Device: Gear 1
  • Right Device: Gear 2

(Note: "Left" and "Right" are relative to facing AWAY from the barrier and stones.)

If you select the correct gears, a cutscene will play showing the barrier getting obliterated. Once that light show ends, loot the remains to obtain your Power Core along with some other handy rewards. One down, three to go!

Step 5: Brave the Bionic Frame Gauntlet

Gear up and get ready to infiltrate a guarded facility, because the Unicorn Bionic Frame is locked behind some stiff security. First, make your way to Dawn Frontier and find the waterfall platforms around coordinates 677.1, -1191.8.

Activate your jetpack and fly up to the landing with the passcode-locked door. Punch in "7092" to open the way forward. Inside you‘ll face robotic sentries and tricky traps, so watch your step! Make your way down to the bottom level where a Special Supply Pod awaits. Activate it to get your Frame along with a bundle of other goodies.

Important: The guards in this area hit hard! If you find yourself getting pummeled, leave and upgrade your Suppressor to at least 3.4 before trying again. Trust me, those extra defense points make a huge difference.

Step 6: Snag Some Cybernetic Limbs

Your next destination is a Type II Supply Pod tucked away in Warren Snowfield. Plug 943.1, -424.2 into your coordinate finder to get there quickly.

When you arrive, be ready for a fight! Three Treasure Guards are standing watch over the pod and its precious cargo. Show those bots who‘s boss, then use your vertical maneuvering skills to reach the pod up on the platform. Crack it open and the Unicorn Cyberlimbs are yours!

A word of caution: the third guard likes to wander off and hide, so you may need to search around a bit to find and defeat it before the pod will activate. Also, the suppressor upgrade tip from Step 5 applies here too. Bulk up that equipment if the mechs are melting your HP bar.

Step 7: The Grind for the Unicorn Head

And now we arrive at the most grueling step of the journey. To ride your Monocross steed, you must obtain its majestic head! Problem is, it‘s an extremely rare drop from two World Boss enemies:

  • Devotee Eber, southeast of the Crown Omnium Tower around 932.7, 434.0
  • Devotee Noah, north of Miners‘ Camp near 339.0, 170.7

These chrome-domed cultists are no pushovers, so bring some friends or activate a damage-boosting relic if you‘re going solo. Even with help, you‘ll likely need to defeat the Devotees dozens of times before the Unicorn Head finally drops. The official odds are less than 1%!

I‘d love to give you a magic formula for head-hunting success, but the truth is it boils down to good old-fashioned persistence (and maybe a pinch of luck). Put on a podcast, grab your favorite beverage, and settle in for the grind. The feeling of triumph when that shimmering cranium finally appears in your loot window is indescribable!

Ride Like the Cyber Wind

After all that hard work, your well-deserved reward awaits. Combine the Power Core, Bionic Frame, Cyberlimbs, and Head to assemble the awe-inspiring Monocross Unicorn Mount. Then summon your new ride and gallop gloriously across the scenic vistas of Tower of Fantasy!

In terms of sheer style, the Unicorn is in a league of its own. Its only real competition for the title of Top Mount are the mighty Chaser and Voyager rides. But those neon hoverboards can‘t match the classic cool factor of a robot horse. Plus, you‘ll be part of an exclusive club, as relatively few players are willing to put in the time and effort to obtain all the pieces.

So what are you waiting for, Wanderer? Gather your gear, rally your friends, and embark on an epic mount-collecting adventure! The Monocross Unicorn is ready to carry you and your rifle-wielding companions to glory. Just remember to feed it some motor oil every 3,000 miles.
